Abby’s guest is legendary marketer and lovely human Daryl Fielding, best known as the architect behind Dove’s 'Real Beauty' campaign, but also other iconic campaigns for brands such as Vodafone, Cadbury and Vauxhall. 

Daryl’s career includes agency and client-side roles as well as more recent Board and Trustee roles plus as the CEO of The Marketing Academy Foundation, she supports young people from tough socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity to start a career in marketing. Also a speaker and author, Daryl’s book – The Brand Book – combines both brand strategy and brand execution to marketers in a practical and accessible way. 

In this episode, Daryl shares the role that brands play in today’s businesses, the importance of standing out, creating an enduring brand and why spending time on brand strategy is a help not a hindrance.
